Speaking to Sky Sports F1 as quoted by Mirror.UK, Button said, “He’s got to not put pressure on himself. He can’t think: ‘I’m going to get in the car and be quicker than Lewis on day one. He’s got to build up to it, otherwise, he’s going to shoot himself in the foot. You can’t be too confident alongside Lewis.”

How did Russell perform in his last season for Williams?

His last season with the Grove-based outfit was his best one, as he managed to score his first Formula One podium at the infamous Belgian Grand Prix, and finished the season with sixteen points to his name – taking the fifteenth spot in the driver’s championship.
