While most of the 2022 F1 season for Red Bull was brilliant, the infamous Brazilian Grand Prix incident was just the opposite. First, the duo of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez failed to finish in the podium places and second, the ugly spat between Verstappen and Perez came out in public. However, in a recent development, team principal Christian Horner hailed them as the best teammates to have raced for the team in recent years. This, however, was quite “odd” for F1 voice, Martin Brundle, as he has doubts about the Briton’s words of appraisal.
Red Bull launched their 2023 challenger named RB19 in New York City, United States on February 3. During the launch event, Horner shared his take on his driver duo as Red Bull has done exceptionally well with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in 2021 and 2022. This take, however, went against Brundle’s thought process as he questioned Horner’s motive.
As per Planet F1, Brundle told Sky Sports F1, “So, odd in that respect, but Christian’s got the data and that’s what he thinks, and he’s the boss. But as you say, you know, if they’re the two you’ve got going into the season ahead, why not say nice things about them?”

What did Christian Horner say about Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez?
As Red Bull team principal Christian Horner took the center stage during the RB19 launch, he primarily pointed out the team’s success. Horner was full of praise for Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen, despite the Dutchman’s U-turn on his team principal.

As per Marca, Horner sadi during the interview, “We are very lucky to have two drivers who have managed to combine efforts to win a championship. The first in 2021 with Max Verstappen and the double championship last year and we won 17 races which was incredible as well as coming home to celebrate the drivers’ championship.”
