It already feels like a while since Sebastian Vettel left the grid in 2022. Despite his absence in the cockpit, he was seen around the paddocks and also reached out to Oliver Bearman before his race, wishing him luck. However, many Seb fans want to know one question: Will Vettel ever return to racing again?
While he has mentioned that his passion has not run out, there has been no confirmation of him in Formula One. On the other hand, he has recently been spotted behind the wheel of a racing car, but an endurance one at that. That begs the question: Does that mean Vettel will be making a comeback soon?

Recently, Sebastian Vettel piloted the factory Porsche 963 during the Sports Car World Championship (FIA WEC) at the Motorland Aragón race track. The four-time Formula 1 world champion assumed control of the vehicle, generating approximately 500 kW (680 hp), and completed two double stints, covering a total of 118 laps, equivalent to approximately 581 kilometers.
According to Speedweek, Sebastian Vettel commented on his involvement with other motorsports, saying, “Of course, I also keep an eye on other motorsport disciplines and know many drivers who are active in the WEC and Le Mans. At some point, my curiosity was so great that I had the idea to try it out myself.” The four-time world champion still has a passion for racing, and irrespective of the sport, he is ready to take on any challenge.

So far, we have seen Sebastian Vettel in a BMW Sauber, a Toro Rosso, a Red Bull, a Ferrari, and an Aston Martin. But now it is a Porsche 963 and hopefully the beginning of a new collaboration. Currently, Porsche has three seats in the endurance team, and so far, Matt Campbell, Michael Christensen, Frédéric Makowiecki, Kévin Estre, André Lotterer, and Laurens Vanthoor have all been mentioned as being in action during the testing.
Now everyone is wondering, will this be Vettel’s return to motorsports? Will this be the reason for Seb’s comeback? Only time will tell, but until then, let’s look at what he had to say about his test runs in LeMans.

Vettel shares his Porsche 963 experience
“After the seat adjustment and the hours in the simulator and the roll-out in Weissach, I already had a good feeling. With the Porsche 963 on the track here in Aragon, that was definitely fun.” Sebastian Vettel said this after his test drive. Vettel reflects on adjusting to the different driving dynamics of the Porsche 963 compared to Formula 1 cars.
“First I had to get used to everything and find my rhythm. The driving experience is different just because of the roof over your head, as is dealing with the higher weight and the tires. The Porsche works drivers were very helpful and explained to me what was special and what I had to get used to. That made it easy for me.” He added, regarding his experience during the test drive.
