Williams hasn’t had the best season so far. With Haas and Alfa Romeo trailing ahead of them almost the entire season, the UK-based outfit had troubling concerns. However, since Dorilton Capital took over the team, considerable improvement is coming to light.

At Imola, George Russell was way ahead of Alfa Romeo and Haas. He was driving with surreal control and impressive pace. If it wasn’t for his stupid error at Aqua Minerale’s turn, he was close to his first F1 championship points.

The Williams No. 63 still kicks himself for the DNF at Imola. He knew how close he was. Yet, mistakes are the best teachers in life. Russell feels the same. He understood his mistake, and he promises to come back stronger.

“It has been good to have a week off to reflect on what happened at Imola and learn from my mistake.

“The recent performance from the car has been really encouraging, and I am looking forward to seeing what we can achieve,” admitted Russell.

Several drivers reached out to Russell after his Imola crash. Even Lewis Hamilton consoled his compatriot on his gutting crash. In a nutshell, George is looking ahead to the Turkish Grand Prix, praying for redemption.

Williams No. 6 also appears set to take on Istanbul Park

We cannot overlook the other driver associated with the UK-based outfit – Nicholas Latifi. Imola was a track where several tailenders picked up the pace. Daniil Kvyat from Alpha Tauri put up a good fight against Ricciardo and clinched P4. Thus, Latifi was not an exception.

The Canadian was one position shy of grabbing his first F1 points. Placed at P11 in Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Latifi was way ahead of their usual P14 or P18.

“I am super excited to get to Istanbul and hit the track there. It is probably one of the newer tracks on the calendar that I was most looking forward to driving,” said Latifi.

“As always this creates a new opportunity for us, with teams not having recent data. I am excited to try and capitalise on that, and hopefully we have a good weekend.”concluded the Russian.

The manner in which both the drivers describe their excitement, Williams can get an excellent position at Imola. Both the drivers appear threatening enough to their rivals and if they can keep a check on the errors, fate is on their side.
