Bernie Ecclestone stepped down from his Formula 1 duty in 2016. However, being in the news probably is his second nature. The Megalomaniac would sit down for an interview and continue to make headlines for months. However, this time he didn’t even have to do that to make it to the newsrooms. An ongoing legal issue where he withheld information about his overseas assets may see him get a temporary breather.

The man who leads an illustrious lifestyle has been making the rounds of the court in pre-trial formalities. He is charged with fraud by false representation between June 2013 and October 2016. It is expected Ecclestone is to plead not guilty in relation to the $400 million evasion. Although the ex-F1 supremo is yet to make a plea. But for now, he arrived at the court with his partner Fabiana.

As reported by Motorsport Turkey, “His wife, Fabiana, attended the preliminary hearing at Southwark Crown Court in London, with Judge Bryan presiding. The main hearing date has been set for November 16, 2023, and the next hearing will be held in June 2023. Ecclestone was released on bail.”

According to the Last Lap podcast, the host said “The FIA kinda knew what was going on with crashgate before the end of the season. Bernie says a lot of things and that’s the problem. And two of the people who knew the most Mosley and Whiting, they’re both no longer with us so they can’t extrapolate on what actually was known and what wasn’t known.”
