The 2021 F1 fight at the front of the grid was highly intense and unpredictable at times. Red Bull prodigy Max Verstappen was up against reigning champion Lewis Hamilton. While the Dutchman looked capable for a challenge, Hamilton was in no mood to cede his ground to the 24-year-old. It was surely an uphill battle for the young ace, but he came out victorious in the end.

More than anything else, the F1 community lauded his temperament and controlled aggression during a tense season. When he entered the sport at the tender age of 17, he carried an image of an aggressive character.

Talking about Lewis Hamilton; at the peak of his rivalry with Nico Rosberg, the Briton defended his aggressive driving and made a point for himself that he will push to the limits and there’s nothing stopping him. However, his approach has subsequently diluted into one of a more mature driver on the grid.

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are totally different: Wolff

One highlight of the 2021 season will surely be the off-track banters between the two frontrunners. More than the two drivers, their respective bosses were constantly at each other’s throats. Since the title fight is decided, the dust seems to have settled.

When the reporter asked Wolff the major difference between Verstappen and Hamilton, he had a rather straightforward opinion. Though he had nothing but praise for both, he marked the difference in experience between the two drivers.

“No, these are completely different types. Max is lightning fast but doesn’t have the experience yet. Lewis is racing at the zenith of his ability. The two drove in their own class. In some cases, they had a 40 to a 45-second advantage over the third-placed team,” pointed out Wolff while talking to Auto Motor und Sports.
