How the tables have turned quickly at McLaren! Lando Norris recently confessed on a live stream that he misses his former teammate Daniel Ricciardo, and we believe that. But missing Ricciardo, in this case, could come from two places. One is as a teammate, and the other could be him finally understanding what the Aussie went through during his time at McLaren, as the roles appear to have been reversed at the papaya team, with Oscar Piastri pushing the Briton into Ricciardo‘s slot.

McLaren’s flight is passing through turbulence with Adrea Stella at the helm. Lando, during the same turbulence, won his battle against a very promising Ricciardo. But this time, only Oscar Piastri is keeping his cool and has supposedly outperformed his teammate in whatever instances he has been presented with. Thus, it has now indicated a shift in dynamics as Lando’s struggles continue to pile up.

So is the belief of the former F1 champion Damon Hill, who recently shared his views on Oscar Piastri’s debut and impression. As quoted by Motorsport Total, Hill said, “What happened to Daniel Ricciardo is a mystery. I don’t know what happened there. But Oscar came in bright and looks confident and feels very comfortable in Formula 1. He already has put in some impressive performances which bodes well for the rest of the season,” he said, calling Piastri closer to Norris than Ricciardo ever was.

“I’m sure Lando will be a tougher nut to crack once he warms up, but he’ll learn a lot. It’s about the pace in qualifying, how you compare. And he’s got good ones in Saudi Arabia Job done. When he comes to Melbourne he’ll get a lot of attention and the question is will that distract him.”

The shift in dynamics could well take a toll on Norris and Piastri if they don’t handle the pressure well. And if they do, it could be a smooth sail ahead for everyone.

Lando Norris blames Oscar Piastri for spoiled race
The ego battles have started at McLaren just two races into the season. Both drivers tried defending themselves after a gloomy night in Saudi Arabia, but Lando Norris, who believed it was his teammate’s front wing debris that ruined his outing, delivered the first blow.

The Briton told Sports Illustrated, “It was a really good start. I just got all the damage from, I think Oscar and Ocon collided and all of their debris hit my car and ruined my race. So, I had to do a nose box change, broke my front wing, but it just kind of ruined the rest of it.”

On the other hand, Piastri wasn’t convinced that it was his fault. Nevertheless, the struggle for McLaren this season appears to go a long way, with no relief in sight until Baku.
