This sport has chewed and spat out a whole host of drivers. But none would’ve faced the brunt of F1 more than Russian driver, Nikita Mazepin. The former-Haas driver was ousted by the American team after just one season. While the official reason can be demarcated as his nationality at the time of Russia’s unfortunate invasion of Ukraine, many fans know his dismal performances during the 2021 season played just as crucial a role in his dismissal.

One year since his ousting, the 24-year-old has come out many times before hinting at his intention to return to the sport. That being said, not a lot of doors will be open to welcome Mazepin back given the lack of vacancies and the multitude of talent already waiting in the wings. However, that doesn’t seem to be a problem for the young driver because he has a spectacular Plan B in his pocket.

As per Sports Illustrated, “Craig Pollock, former British American Racing (BAR) founder, is back in the game and this time he’s taking on Formula One with a team that promises to be a trailblazer for gender equality in motorsports. Pollock’s new team, Formula Equal, is hoping to secure a place in F1 as the 11th team.” But what’s so groundbreaking about this, you may ask.

“Pollock is determined to build a team that is 50% male and 50% female, a feat that is unheard of in the male-dominated world of Formula One.”
