AlphaTauri seemed the happiest team off the court with the greatest bromance of the grid between Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda. However, things were up for a change when Gasly shifted bases, and a Formula 2 and Formula E champion, Nyck de Vries, was set to partner with Yuki. An entire episode of Drive to Survive was dedicated to how tense a situation it can be for the Japanese driver, as he has to prove himself as the team leader. But with five races in Tsunoda has outperformed de Vries, which the entire Red Bull clan has acknowledged.

When you have a sister team on the grid, shuffling drivers and, most importantly, promoting them becomes a very easy task. While Sergio Perez stands as an exception, almost all the Red Bull drivers were once Toro Rosso (now rebranded as AlphaTauri) drivers and were promoted to the champion team after seeing their potential. And Yuki seems like a good candidate to be promoted as the team principal Franz Tost has highlighted how Tsunoda’s potential stands noted.

Mr. P11 for 2023, Yuki has put his subpar machine in points and a few times just outside it. AlphaTauri TP Franz Tost has stated that everyone at Red Bull sees how great the Japanese driver is. And perhaps his outstanding performance in junior Formula categories also plays a role in that judgment. But seeing the praise internet took opposite podiums.

Fans oppose each other as Yuki Tsunoda hailed by Franz Tost

In F2, he won Pirelli’s Driver of The Year award for his tire strategies. He clinched the Anthoine Hubert Award for being the Best ‘Rookie of the Year.’ But fans have sparked a debate if that is good enough to partner with Max Verstappen. Take a look at the divided Twitter Comments.
