Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda share a genuine friendship off the grid. From their winsome videos spread all over the internet to posting about each other, the duo has enjoyed some great moments together. This year, though, their team AlphaTauri has performed rather disappointingly, and the drivers have had more pressure on them.
Currently P8 on the constructors, the Italian team has lacked pace throughout the year. Baku has been the only track where the team performed exceptionally well, failing to do so elsewhere. And though, Tsunoda and Gasly work hard to propel the car into points places, even they make mistakes sometimes.

Silverstone was a bad race for the Italian team. And Tsunoda now opened up about his collision with his teammate that cost them points, “From Silverstone… I crashed into Pierre. That was not definitely not good situation for you know for everyone. For teams, of course, for Pierre as well… We lost a lot of points.”

Overall, neither Tsunoda nor Gasly have been able to perform to their full potential. Though there is an identifiable improvement in the Japanese driver’s performance, this year has only been a slump for his team. The exceptionally talented Gasly has also struggled to keep the car in just points this year.
While in the earlier years, Gasly still managed to somehow maneuver his car into points finish, this year the AlphaTauri’s have not been good enough for that either. Clearly, the season has not been good for the Frenchman, who has often even started after getting knocked out in just Q1.
