Yuki Tsunoda Reveals Deviant Motive Behind His Alternate F1 Career Pick: “If You Don’t Like a Driver…”

AlphaTauri driver Yuki Tsunoda has built up quite a reputation for being a jolly character in the F1 paddock. We often see him making jokes with his teammates and also with the media. He is known for giving hilarious answers to questions in the media.

So it was no surprise when, in AlphaTauri’s new YouTube video, he gave another one of his gem of an answer. When he was asked what kind of mechanic would he be, he replied in his own fashion and gave an answer no one expected.

“Probably the mechanic who ties the seat belt to the driver. Because I think you can tighten it as much as possible if you don’t like a driver, or you know if the driver is not performing well. I guess, tight as much as possible,” said the Japanese driver.

It is nice to see that the Tsunoda still exhibits innocence in his answers and has not just changed since entering F1.

Coming to his on-track antics, recently there have been a few questions surrounding his future in the sport.

AlphaTauri team principal Franz Tost revealed that the future of Tsunoda lies in his hands. He revealed that they will judge the young Red Bull academy driver on the basis of performance.

“If he continues like he did during the season, apart from crashing, I think that he has a good chance to stay with us. It depends on him. If he shows a good performance, he will stay. If he doesn’t show a good performance, he is out. Totally easy,” said Tost.

Tost is on Yuki’s side as he also defended him when Marko called him a problem child. “I like problem children because these are the real good children who can make something out of it,” said the team boss.

Compared to his teammate, he is doing relatively better in 2022 than last season. Only 5 points separate the two drivers, with Pierre Gasly sitting in P16 and Tuki in P16. Hopefully, the Japanese driver can catch up and help his team take the fight to Haas.
