Among the fans who were present in the stadium to bid goodbye to the Tennis Titan, Mercedes driver George Russell was one of them. Russell also had the opportunity to meet Roger’s Team Europe teammate, Andy Murray.
Roger teamed up with one of his fiercest rivals, Rafael Nadal, to play a Men’s double match against Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock. It wasn’t a fairytale ending for Roger as they lost the third set tie break 11-9.
However, in an emotional farewell, Roger Federer teared up during his interview. The Swiss maestro found it hard to speak as his poignant emotions were clear. Roger later caught up with an old friend, George Russell. In an Instagram post shared by George, he complimented the Swiss star after his glittering career came to an end.
