The Macau street circuit is considered to be highly treacherous. In fact, some would consider it the Monaco of the East. This circuit was currently on the calendar for the F3 season.

The Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix is currently under a lengthy red flag delay after a high-speed crash for Sophia Flörsch at the Lisboa corner. Unfortunately no further updates forthcoming on the driver’s condition.

Following an early Safety Car period to clear a number of cars that crashed at Lisboa on the opening lap of the race, the drivers took the restart on Lap 3, with Saturday race winner Dan Ticktum retaining his lead.

While the leaders were able to make it through Lisboa without any issue the second time around, video footage showed Flörsch’s Van Amersfoort-run car going airborne towards the catch fencing.

The F3 race was swiftly red flagged to allow officials to tend to the crash site. No official updates regarding Flörsch’s condition, or the state of anyone at the crash site, have been given.

The red flag has currently been out for over half an hour, with the drivers lined up in the pit lane awaiting news on a possible restart.
