The Brazilian pulled off a massive divebomb down the inside of fellow debutante Stoffel Vandoorne. What made the move even more amazing was the fact that Vandoorne himself was down the inside of another car. In other words, it was a double overtake and everyone came out unscathed.

The 45 minute + 1 lap race was won by BMW Andretti’s Antonio Felix Da Costa. Last season’s champion, Jean-Eric Vergne was 2nd and Mahindra Racing’s Jerome D’Ambrosio rounded out the podium.

The race had plenty of drama with Da Costa even misaligning his car on the starting grid. Then, due to technical infringements, a handful of drivers were handed drive-through penalties. Among them was Vergne, but that didn’t stop him from charging through the pack and snatching 2nd.
