Earlier, Fernando Alonso pitched an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram and the fans immediately jumped in. Some of the questions asked, pertained to his life away from Formula One. However, some did ask if he would ever return to Formula One. In fact, one question referred to Nico Rosberg wondering if Alonso would return to F1 with Mercedes.

Normally for any driver, jumping into a top tier team like Mercedes would be an instant yes. However, Fernando Alonso is not in a hurry to come back any time soon and admitted that if he did, everyone would surely know.

He said, “I’ve been surprised a bit how many people talked about that recently. I had the best first half season possible. Winning a World Championship, Daytona, Sebring, Le Mans… If one day I decide to come back, you will know it”
