Fernando Alonso will be back in F1 for 2021. The Spaniard will be returning to claim his third title in Formula 1. Pumped with the new Alpine Renault project, Alonso is already making regular trips to the factory. He wants to make sure he does not lose out on anything before even a single race. Moreover, he is also eager to make up for the two years.
The Renault team also knows that Fernando Alonso does not joke around when it comes to his championship. The team understands that he is coming back with high hopes and as such, even they don’t want to disappoint him. Abiteboul himself agreed that they lacked a thorough education about the car which held them back. They are now ready to help the Spaniard in every way.
“Next step in Fernando’s Back to F1 journey; a two-day R.S.18 test in Bahrain next week! 4-5 November, stay tuned,” announced Renault.

The team let go of Daniel Ricciardo after two years. Alonso is taking his place and understands the responsibility that comes with this. However, Renault will have an equal load on their shoulders to not let down their drivers. Abiteboul, who has been promoted to the Director of the Alpine project, will have to be careful to watch out for slips and setbacks.

Fernando Alonso is feeling the heat as well
Amid all the hubbub over Alonso’s return, the Spaniard has been making every attempt to come up to speed. Being off the grid for two years and coming back to speed again is an ordeal. Alonso admitted that but does not let that discourage him. Given his conviction and determination, he will fight back.
“Getting back to the F1 speed is not so easy. I was improving lap after lap and trying to give feedback to the engineers. Also, we had some filming to do, so there were cameras, there were drones following on track. So it was hard pressure, hard work today,” expressed the two time world champion.

Fernando Alonso is being allowed as many test rides as possible with the French team. The team had one in Barcelona and they’ve planned the next one in Bahrain. While the winter testing will give them an idea of how well the car and driver sit, they want to know as much as possible even before that.
“I think the car has potential, as we see every weekend. But still some room to improve, as we know, and we’ll try to do it in the shorter term,” added the Spaniard.
