During the Australian GP, Mercedes once again asserted their dominance in Formula One. Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas was proof of it when he won the race from teammate Lewis Hamilton. However, the real story was Scuderia Ferrari and their lack of pace, especially since they were strong in pre-season testing.

However, Melbourne exposed them immensely and Mercedes were running riot yet again. It got to a point where Vettel asked the team for any update on the engine and was met with dead silence. It was a far cry from Ferrari’s early promise of ending Mercedes’ dominance and bringing the trophy back to Maranello.

However, Melbourne was a big blow to the scarlet team. Hopefully for their sake, the team picks up the pace and begins to pose a serious challenge to Mercedes. However, they will also have to contend with Red Bull after they announced themselves very publicly in Australia with Max Verstappen’s podium.
