The Goodwood Festival of Speed has just wrapped up with the who’s who of motorsport all turning up for the prestigious event. Among the attendees were former Ferrari driver Rubens Barrichello and F1 legend Sir Jackie Stewart.

The Brazilian driver reunited with his 2009 Brawn GP car that won the constructors’ title. Meanwhile Stewart was reunited with his own Formula One car for the festival. Ahead of Stewart’s own run, Rubens Barrichello spotted the Briton catching a few Z’s.

What followed next was a piece of hilarious banter between the two former F1 drivers. Admittedly, Sir Jackie Stewart was a little miffed at being rudely awakened from his siesta.

Since retiring from Formula One after 2011, Rubens Barrichello had initially planned to return, with Caterham. However, the move never materialised and that was the last anyone in F1 ever saw of the Brazilian.

After his Formula One stint, Rubens Barrichello began racing in Sports cars and Stock car racing in Brazil. He clinched the Stock Car championship in 2014 for the Full Time Racing team. As of 2019, the F1 veteran is lying 2nd in the championship.

In February 2018, Barrichello was rushed to hospital after suffering headaches where it was discovered that he had a benign tumour which was later removed.

Meanwhile, the Brawn GP team was bought and has been transformed into the now, Mercedes team. The outfit has since gone from strength to strength and become one of the strongest teams, if not the strongest.
