Looks like the beautiful chemistry between Clix, the sixteen-year-old Fortnite pro from NRG Esports, and Donald Mustard, the Chief Creative Officer of Epic Games, is not dead. Those who keep regular tabs on the news regarding the Fortnite community would remember that the pro had called out the Epic CCO online, accusing him of ruining the Battle Royale title. This was back in August last year.

Recently, Clix wrote a reply to Donald’s tweet, calling him a “bald f–k”. Now, we do not know whether Clix meant to insult him, or if he was just horsing around. Even if it is the latter, the reply was an irresponsible one, to say the least. Moreover, following the drama involving these two, we do not know what to make of it.

The NRG Fortnite pro must be joking… or is he?

Fortnite is currently one of the most popular titles not only in the Battle Royale genre but in the entire roster of multiplayer titles. Although the title introduced new gameplay elements to the genre, even the pros and followers of the game agree that the player community can be really toxic at times. Some of the pros have even cited this as their reason when they made the jump to other eSports.

Now, why we said that this comment was irresponsible is, even if this is a joke, it will set an awful example for the younger players trying to make it big. That, in turn, will lead to a whole new generation of toxic players in the scene.

A lot of members of the community have been criticizing Clix for this recent tweet. The popular data miner HYPEX posted a tweet about this as well. The leaker went on to say that this immaturity is why Epic should not allow players under 18 to join the competitive scene.

We all agree that this title has a host of fresh talent in its competitive scene. However, the immaturity of the player community is something a lot of pros have talked about.
