Fortnite OG season is finally over. And that’s a bitter pill to swallow, considering the impact it had. The game even reached a new peak in its player count. Bringing back the iconic original map, the game even saw the return of many veteran players. Now with the OG season gone, what’s next for Fortnite?

To continue the run of having millions of players engage with the game, Epic Games has planned for yet another exciting chapter. The Fortnite team recently dropped its Chapter 5 Launch Trailer, and here we can see the change in movement mechanics added to the game. Following the Big Bang event, Fortnite will be taking its next step from here on out. The game has worked on extensively changing how the gameplay feels with a focus on making the character movements more parkourish.

Fortnite 28.00 (4.08) Update Early Patch Notes included a part stating that hurdling and wall climbing will be added in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1: Underground and that it would feature in the launch trailer. And that’s exactly what the launch trailer showed.

The trailer showcased players doing parkour around the map, making it easier to navigate to higher ground. Players can now make long jumps to cover large gaps, and almost Spider-man their way up walls. The trailer showcases characters almost flying around the map. It looks like Fortnite has made movement easier to make the gameplay faster and more seamless.

The all-new Grapple Blade

Another update is the introduction of the grapple blade. This piece of equipment is going to change the way players navigate around the map of Fortnite. The additions will make reaching high grounds much easier to negate the high ground advantage.

The Grapple Blade also adds a new mechanic where players can zip to their enemy and use the blade to deliver a finishing melee blow. This weapon resembles the ODM gear from the anime Attack on Titan, with which they already have a collaboration.

With the new parkour-ish movement mechanics and a slew of new additions to the game, Epic has worked on making this Chapter more exciting than ever. The new update will be out as soon as the Big Bang event gets done. There might be a downtime where players will have to wait for the patch to roll out properly, and after that, it’s back into the action.
