Insomniac Games Leaked Documents Hint At a Spider-Verse Game in Plans

The recent suffered by Insomniac Games’ has supposedly confirmed more Spider-Man games. There’s nothing worse for gaming developers than sensitive information being leaked. Unfortunately, the industry has faced quite a few of these lately. Following the massive GTA 6 leaks, Insomniac Games has made the headlines for a similar fiasco. The developers of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 were hit by a Rhysida ransomware attack leading to some confidential data surfacing on the web. Apparently, one of these leaked data hints at a new Spider-Man game. And no, we’re not talking about Spider-Man 3.

The criminal hacker organization Rhysida has been one big cyber threat to all the data-secured sites. Earlier in May, the group had breached the virtual space of heavy-traffic websites from Europe. Now, Insomniac Games has become their first big target from the world of gaming. Moreover, the nightmare of cyber threat has just started for the Spider-Man developers as Rhysida has some dangerous plans ahead. Among all that’s been leaked to the public, a lot of sensitive information includes details on Insomniac’s forthcoming project, Wolverine. But that’s not all. We could be getting a Spider-Verse project!

The Rhysidia group released a few screenshots and confidential data from the Spider-Man developers to claim credibility for their recent breach. As the leaked images went viral across the web, Sony confirmed the latest ransomware attack. Later on, the surrounding speculations that was scooped to the public began.

The leaks included a few passport scans of the Insomniac employees, a document that belongs to the game’s Peter-Parker, Yuri Lowenthal. Other classified documents involved signed contracts and company emails. However, of all that was leaked, the highlights were some screenshots that hinted at what the company has in store in the coming months. While Marvel’s Wolverine comes as no surprise in the leak, a Spider-Verse cryptic tease has the community intrigued. 

The details that spark the Spider-Verse theory

The released pictures from Rhysida include a list of planned games from Insomniac. The list reads Spider-Man 2, Miles-Morales, a game called RCE, Spider-Man 3, and a game called Spider-Man-(blurred). The most common deductions made from the picture claim it’s Spider-Verse. Moreover, another picture read, additional support for Spider-Verse.” Thus, adding more value to the deduction

Another important detail that was observed by the fans was about Marvel’s Wolverine. The annotated screenshots around the Wolverine game included model art of all the comic book characters featured in the highly anticipated project. According to the claims made by the hackers, they could release more data by a deadline. The hacked information is currently at an auction for a price of 50 Bitcoins ( $2 million). It is yet to be known what Insomniac Games’ next step would be in response to the breach. Hopefully, the developers will resolve the issue soon.
