After years of waiting, theories, leaks and rumours, Rockstar Games has finally gifted the world a first official look at GTA 6. They released the first trailer today. Despite having a countdown on YouTube and being less than 24 hours away from its premier, it was leaked. So unfortunately, the developer had to release it officially and ahead of the planned time. Further, the studio has also confirmed a 2025 release on consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X\S. But what about PC?

While they confirmed a PlayStation and Xbox release, there was nothing about the PC. A lot of players were expecting for an announcement regarding next-gen devices, including PC. But the latter seems to have been omitted for now. Will GTA 6 eventually get a pc port?

The makers have revealed through a press release that the game continues their efforts “to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences.”

Moreover, the press release also revealed that “Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems in 2025.” So it won’t be coming to PC, at least during the initial launch.

The concept of games getting a PC port after the console release is not a new concept though. Titles like GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 were also launched for PC following a long gap. While GTA V came to PC after nearly two years in 2015, RDR2 made its way to the platform after one year of its debut on PS4 and Xbox One in October 2018. Even with other developers like Naughty Dog for instance, The Last of Us released on the PC in March 2023, while the game released on the PS3 in 2013.

Per the press release from Take-Two, there’s no mention of PC, but that doesn’t mean GTA 6 won’t be on PC at all. It’s just that fans will have to wait for a period of at least one year.

What’s in store for fans in the next Grand Theft Auto?

While informing the players about its next and highly ambitious AAA video game, Rockstar also mentioned in the recent press release that GTA 6 will be a “new vision” for fans across the globe.

Moreover, the studio also revealed that the story will be set in Leonida this time. “Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”

While Vice City will play a crucial role, most of the events will take place in Leonida. Apart from the large map, the game will have real-life references to social media platforms like Instagram and even TikTok.

While the trailer revealed a lot like two protagonists, return to Vice City, release year and consoles for which it will release, whether a PC release will happen is yet to be seen.
