Former Brazil and Inter Milan defender, Lucio has signed for Indian Super League franchise FC Goa and will join them for the upcoming season which will start from October 3rd.
“Lucio has has been signed as an marque player as he was strongly recommended by (Goa manager) Zico”, said FC Goa co-owner Srinivas Dempo.

“We have signed another Brazilian Andreas and are looking for more signings that will boost the squad.” said the enthusiastic owner.
Lucio has represented Brazil and has played for several European clubs, namely Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and most recently, Brazilian club Palmeiras.
Lucio has won many honours in his highly illustrated career including the Seria A, Bundesliga and the Champions League title but his career highlight would have to be the 2002 World Cup with Brazil. Lucio is sure to bring leadership and strong tackling and aerial abilities to the inexperienced Goa defence.
This is big news for development of football in India as the presence of a player of Lucio’s experience and stature will definitely benefit the local players.
