History of the 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational Venue

The LPGA Tour stars will return to the Tiburon Golf Club this weekend after the exciting events of the 2024 CME Group Tour Championship a few weeks ago. Surrounded by a mesmerizing landscape with breathtaking architecture, the golf course in Naples, Florida, is a beautiful sight. Outgoing LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman carefully crafted the design of the award-winning course.

The club has two courses, Gold and Black. Both were designed by Greg Norman in 1998 and 2001, respectively. The Gold Course is the larger of the two at 7,382 yards, while the Black is 6,949 yards long. Despite the difference in size, both courses offer 18 holes of 72 par.

While the courses themselves are worth every minute you spend on them, the Mediterranean-style clubhouse in the Tiburon Golf Club is something you shouldn’t miss out on. Stretching across 27,000 square feet, the clubhouse features three extravagant dining areas, a lounge, locker rooms for the members, and a sports shop for all the enthusiasts visiting the Naples-based club.

While the two courses are regarded as the best Florida has to offer, they also present an intense challenge for anyone who tries to take them on. Norman has ensured that the added water hazards, laborious bunkers, and wayward greens turn every hole into a nightmare for the overambitious. Safe play is the only way to beat the courses, as 2024 CME Group Tour Championship winner Atthaya Thitikul would be aware.

Tiburon is a well-celebrated golf course

Omaha Magazine announced that the courses at the Tiburon Golf Club had won the 2016 Golf Course of the Year. Another famed journalistic outlet, the Golf Advisor, named the Gold Course as the top course in Florida in 2023. It was also voted as the Golfers’ Choice of course by the same magazine in 2023.

Beyond that, the two courses at the Tiburon Golf Club are consistently rated highly in the top 20 golf courses in Florida list. The Gold and Black courses have received honors on multiple occasions from Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine.
