The Aramco Team Series has become a golf event that attracts top golfers across the world. An organization with a keen eye on sports, Aramco is making further inroads into the world of golf. The Asian Development Tour, which has been instrumental in nurturing the young talents of Asia, is its next aspiration.

After a successful LIV Golf venture, Aramco now enters Asian grounds. The Saudi company entered into a partnership which will be a lucrative deal for all the stakeholders. This includes the players, since the company brings with it a huge amount of prize money!

Asian Development Tour gets a new partnership on board

Boasting a substantial prize pool of $250,000, the collaboration between Saudi Aramco and the ADT is set to establish itself as the most coveted event on the tour. The tournament will be a 72-hole stroke play event taking place at the Rolling Hills Golf Course. Saudi Aramco will also become the title sponsor for the next 3 editions.

The tournament will commence on November 29 and will end on December 2, serving as the season-ending event for ADT 2023. This sponsorship puts the total ADT prize money for the entire season to amount to over $1 million.

Chairman of the Saudi Aramco Golf Association, Nabil Al-Nuaim, also went on to express pride in supporting golf in Saudi Arabia. He noted that this collaboration resonates with fostering sports in the kingdom and cultivating youth interest in golf.

Cho Minn Thant, in his role as the Asian Tour Commissioner & CEO, warmly embraced the partnership and expressed his confidence that it would serve as a motivating factor for ADT players, encouraging their transition to the Asian Tour.  He added, “We’re grateful to Aramco for their vision and commitment to the development of golf.” A promotion to the Asian Tour will be offered to the top ten ADT players as per the order of merit.

Fostering talent and continuing the golf legacy

This year, the Saudi Aramco Invitational will feature a field of 120 golfers, comprising 70 Asian Development Tour players and 40 individuals handpicked by Aramco, alongside 10 invitees. Notably, the inaugural edition of the tournament was clinched by Thailand’s Varanyu Rattanaphiboonkij at the picturesque Rolling Hills Golf Course.
