Parents of Tiger Woods were the most significant motivator

People say that parents know best, and Tiger Woods proved this fact. However, sometimes facts sound like boasts, but no one knew better than Earl Woods. He was with him since the beginning, and he was the one who first saw potential in his son. The pro golfer was not even a year old when he struck his first golf shot. According to the HBO documentary by John Strege, he had the best reaction to the shot. Senior Woods ran from his makeshift garage driving range inside the house and shouted to his wife, Kultida, “We have a genius on our hands.”

American golfer Senior Woods, who is now deceased, was born in Manhattan, Kansas. during the Korean War, he served in the US Army. He was an infantry officer in the United States Army who served two tours of duty in South Vietnam before retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. However, he was not only into golf; he also played baseball in college as well. Kultida, on the other hand, was a reserved young lady when she first encountered elder Woods. The two ran into each other, according to ESPN, in Bangkok, Thailand.

At the time, Kultida was a civilian secretary in the United States Army office, and Earl was in uniform. They met due to their service to the United States but appeared like an odd match on paper. Woods’ mother had never lived outside of Thailand and, at the time, spoke very little English. But love found the way, and they married and lived happily. However, growing up, she took her son to Thailand several times to teach him about his traditions and family roots. She is often seen supporting Tiger at many of the tournaments.

The pro’s daughter is a pure gem

The major championship winner met his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, in early 2000. A year later, they exchanged vows in the presence of family and friends. In 2007, the couple welcomed their first child, Sam Alexis. Charlie Woods’ birth made the family bigger in 2009. We all know the great potential of Woods’ son, but what about his beautiful daughter?

While Woods was growing up, his father used to call him with the nickname Sam; and that is how his daughter got her name. Sam was only six months old when she first attended her dad’s golfing competitions. She has always rooted for him in every situation and even served as his caddy at one point. They elected the PGA Tour pro for the Hall of Fame in 2020, to be inducted in 2021. But the ceremony was delayed because of the epidemic. However, in March 2022, Sam gave the most beautiful speech for her father’s induction. She said, “We didn’t know if you’d come home with two legs or not. Now, you’re not only about to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but you’re standing here on your own two feet. This is why you deserve this. You’re a fighter, you’ve defied the odds every time.” It made everyone break into tears.

Woods was not Earl Woods’ only child. He married his first wife, Barbara Gray, in 1954 and divorced in 1968. The former couple had three children, Earl Jr., Kevin, and Royce, who are Tiger’s half-siblings. Earl Woods Jr. is the father of Cheyenne Woods, the pro golfer’s niece and also a professional golfer. She has a Rolex ranking of 1266 and has earned $324,817 in her golf career. She married Aaron Hicks, and they had their first baby in April 2022.
