Ever since the LIV Golf season ended, Brooks Koepka has been exploring other opportunities. He has already played consecutive DP World Tour events. He was featured in the field for the Amgen Irish Open, where he saw Rory McIlroy lift the title. Then the 5-time major winner played the BMW PGA Championship. With no Ryder Cup on the horizon, Koepka has been confirmed for another tournament. And considering his form, he might be getting desperate for a win.

As per the latest reports from Smash GC’s Instagram account, Brooks will be taking a trip to France for his next $3.25 million challenge. He will play in the FedEx Open de France 2025 at Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche. And after the failures in Ireland and the U.K., Koepka will be desperate for a victory as he returns to the event for the first time since 2014.
The LIV Golf pro missed the cuts in his last two DP World Tour bouts. With no big names competing in the Open de France, this will be the best opportunity for Koepka to push for a win. Hopefully, he will have a bigger reason to party this time around than he did in Dublin. Either way, it will certainly be interesting to see what he achieves in the tournament as he makes a comeback to it after 11 years.

Another thing that would be riding on Koepka’s shoulder would be his terrible status on the OWGR table. At present, he is ranked 325th in the world. Until late 2024, he was still in the top 100. However, a lack of regular sanctioned events has quickly pushed him down the rankings. At one point in 2025, he was also 425th in the world. However, the T12 finish in the U.S. Open helped him gain some momentum. He will need to get a great result in France if he wants to get back among the top-ranked players in the world.

Who will be the toughest challengers for Brooks Koepka in France?
While Rory McIlroy & Jon Rahm will be busy at Bethpage, Brooks Koepka won’t have a free run at Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche to win the title. He will still face some tough opponents who can stop him from grabbing the FedEx Open de France 2025 trophy. Fellow LIV Golf pro, Adrian Meronk, will be one of the strongest players on the field. Meronk had an excellent season in LIV Golf and will have a mental advantage over Koepka going into France.
Alternatively, players like Brooks will also be wary of pros like Keita Nakajima, Ryan Fox, and Thomas Detry, who have all had quite great seasons. They have each won a title this year and will be confident to grab another win in France. Desperate to improve his position on OWGR and gain some form, Brooks Koepka will certainly be hungry and desperate to defeat them all and win the 2025 FedEx Open de France.
