“Sunshine, fairways, and perseverance define my game.” These are the wise words of the golfer who made a surprise switch after having just the ideal year. In 2022, Cam Smith won his first major at the 150th Open Championship. Not only this, his list of wins that year included the Sentry Tournament of Champions, The Players Championship, and the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship. The exceptional year of victories for the golfer also brought the PGA Tour Player of the Year award.

Even after an ideal year on the PGA Tour, the news of joining LIV Golf shocked the fans. However, despite the league switch, he continued to keep his wins list moving as he has 3 victories in LIV Golf, too. He is now set to play in LIV Golf Adelaide 2025, an event he highly loves. Last year his team won the event. “It kind of felt like you were trying to get it done for Australia,” Smith said. “Just the amount of people that were all on your side was pretty unique. I’ve never really felt like that before where everyone is leaning on you to get it done.”

All thanks to his great golfing essentials, which do justice to the golfer’s game and skill set, expectations from him are high this year too.

Cameron Smith’s Titlist picks for teeing off

Cam Smith prefers Titleist TSR 3 with 8 degrees loft to cover the maximum course from his tee shot. The driver has helped him achieve an average driving distance of 299 yards with its great speed, distance, and adjustability. The 460cc shape with adjustability makes it a great option to maximize course coverage with accuracy at $449.

Other than his driver, he carries a 3-wood and a 7-wood. The Ping Max G430 3-wood with 15 degrees loft offers great forgiveness with a high launch setup. Even the Titleist 7-wood with 21 degrees loft offering great distance coverage and forgiveness assures fairway accuracy. Both fairway woods cost roughly around $300, making it a viable option for a short play or covering up the mistakes on a tee shot.

Next in his bag to reach the greens, is the Titleist T100 series 7-iron. The series offers three key performance metrics, i.e., distance, dispersion, and descent angle. To make it even better for Smith, he has added the KBS Tour 130X Custom Series shaft. The $200 iron offers great reliability for setting up the final shots on the greens.

Cam Smith’s pick for the greens

After the ideal setup for the final shots, he brings out Bob Vokey and Titleist SM9 wedges. With lots of loft options ranging from 46 to 62 degrees, the golfer finds the sweet spot for the final putt. Even to make it better, the wedge specializes in offering consistent flight with higher spin. With all the great customization offered at $160, it is a great buy.

At last in his bag, he carries a Scotty Cameron 009 prototype putter with 3 degrees loft and a 35’’ shaft. The putter is great at offering precision with its milled face. It is extremely forgiving for off-center shots. Offering the best of chances to convert each close call with a putt at $5000.

To make every shot go as planned, he carries the Titleist Pro V1X ball that supports longer flight and spin. Ideal for both‌ short- and long-game situations. It is among the best balls for the professional game, which is why it is relatively higher than other brands or series at $64.

At the start of the season, he achieved a T25 finish, now it will be interesting to see how he plays at one of the greatest LIV Golf events in Adelaide. What are your predictions for Cam Smith? Let us know in the comments below.
