A few weeks ago, Charley Hull was two strokes away from winning the first major of her career. She had later confessed that she was also suffering through a lot of pain while competing on her home soil for the title. Despite her rigorous fitness regime, the English star hasn’t been in her peak fitness condition recently. And that is mostly due to the injuries that she sustained. She has recently discussed this topic in an honest confession, as she confessed that today it hurtduring practice.

Hull joined the press conference preceding the 2025 Kroger Queen City Championship. During the interview, one of the reporters asked her what the toughest part of the injury-filled season so far was. The fashionista of the LPGA Tour told the media, “I feel like it’s just come at the wrong time when I’m, like, playing well. Obviously fainted at Evian and hurt my back after that when I was lifting a box into my car, and then, like, tore the muscle.”

The 29-year-old couldn’t even get through the first round of the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship before she started feeling nauseous. She ended up losing cautiousness and collapsed midway through the round. That led to an immediate withdrawal. However, she actually sustained her back injury while trying to lift something heavy into her car. That caused a muscle tear. Unfortunately, that was not the end of the story for her.

Charley added, “And then obviously, tearing the ligament in my ankle, so it’s just gone one after another. Playing pretty decent golf, touch wood, and it’s just come at like an awkward point as well, and you just want to play loads of golf.” Hull has undoubtedly been in excellent form. However, her body hasn’t supported her great run, as after her runner-up finish in the AIG Women’s Open, she sustained another injury to her ankle.

That further led to her withdrawal from the PIF London Championship in early August 2025. Despite her absence from the field, she still made an appearance on the course to show support for her peers and the tournament that was played on her home soil. Since then, the English pro has played in the Aramco Houston Championship to finish as a runner-up.

However, her real challenge will be the next tournament, the Kroger Queen City Championship. It will feature a full field with the best LPGA Tour stars. And she has been working hard for it. When asked about how she is preparing for the tournament, Hull stated, “Loads and loads of physio and rehab stuff, and then all my rehab stuff with my ankle and all my rehab stuff for my back. So that’s about it, really. Got a facial yesterday and get my nails done this afternoon.”

It seems that her back and ankle are still causing a problem. And she is constantly in rehab to recover from it. In fact, she also went on to admit, Today it hurt. It’s just a lot of golf last week and then straight into this week. But pain is only a bloody weakness of the mind, so I’ll be all right.” While we appreciate her courage to fight through this, no one would want to see Charley Hull faint on the course again. Especially when she is suffering from multiple injuries. However, knowing how far she is known for pushing her body, it won’t come as a surprise if she runs through the pain and breaks her winless streak on the LPGA Tour this week.

In 2025, she came close to breaking the streak a couple of times. She was close to beating Lydia Ko in the HSBC Women’s World Championship at the beginning of the season. Apart from the Chevron Championship, Hull has also been consistently great in the majors this season. On the Ladies European Tour, she has had three top-10 finishes. Late last year, she broke her winless streak in Europe by capturing the Aramco Team Series – Riyadh title.

It’s evident that Charley Hull is in incredible form at the moment. Even when she is injured, she is able to beat nearly everyone in the field to get close to winning a title. As she continues to recover, she might be a threat to her peers at TPC River’s Bend. However, once she completely recovers, fans might get to see her lift the third LPGA Tour title of her career in the near future.
