The LPGA Tour heads to South Korea for its next big challenge: the Hanwha LifePlus International Crown 2025. This week, the top women golfers will compete in a team event featuring eight national squads, but with one special twist. Since New Zealand and the U.K. don’t have individual teams, Charley Hull & Lydia Ko will represent Team World, and they are hyped up about it.

In fact, Hull also shared a post on Instagram to share her excitement about the event. She wrote, “Team World mode on 🌍💪 Me and @lydsko pairing up in the four-balls tomorrow taking on Japan 🇯🇵. Let’s go get it in Korea 🇰🇷.” On the first day of the Round-Robin contest, Team World will face Japan. Hull & Ko will battle Miyu Yamashita & Rio Takeda in a four-ball match to see who comes out on top and wins a point for their team.

Hull is no stranger to team competitions. She is one of the star performers for Team Europe in the Solheim Cup. So she will certainly be looking forward to her participation this time out. Earlier, she had missed the opportunity to play in the 2023 Hanwha LifePlus International Crown. Interestingly, Ko is just as enthusiastic about participating in the tournament. She dropped by in the comments to cheer, “Let’s go Team World!” The two LPGA stars are clearly ready to make an impact on the global stage.

The only thing standing in their way? History shows that Charley Hull’s team doesn’t usually perform well in the Hanwha LifePlus International Crown. Let’s look at how they have played in the past.

Will Charley Hull overcome a bad record alongside Lydia Ko?

This is the first time a Team World is playing in the Hanwha LifePlus International Crown. In the previous editions, Charley Hull represented Team England in the event. The side from the U.K. didn’t hold a great record in the tournament. The best finish Hull managed was a T2 in 2018. Tied with the United States at 11, they lost the Hanwha LifePlus International Crown to South Korea by 4 points. However, things might change now that Lydia Ko has joined the equation.

Ko might not be as familiar with team competition events, but that also makes her an unpredictable threat. Moreover, the pairing of Lydia Ko and Charley Hull will surely rattle many teams during the event. Team World also includes Brooke Henderson and Wei-Ling Hsu, who can also deliver great results for their team. Interestingly, Team U.S. lacks the services of Nelly Korda this year. That’s one less problem Ko & Hull have to worry about this year.
