There are very few golfers in history who have really moved the needle in the sport. The likes of Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, & Gary Player did it during their prime. Tiger Woods has been doing it for the past two and a half decades. Bryson DeChambeau has also been quite impactful, considering his influence on YouTube and involvement in Donald Trump’s office. However, there is one more player the President believes has been changing the landscape of golf over the past few years. And that is Scottie Scheffler.

Trump joined his granddaughter, Kai, in her latest YouTube video for a round of golf. During one of the segments, the content creator asked him who his favorite player of all time was. The president told his granddaughter, “Tiger, Jack. I love Jack. I love Gary Player. They are such great athletes. They’re great players. I… I love Bryson. I think that Scottie is going to be great, too. He already is. But, Scottie’s great.”

After complimenting greats like Tiger Woods, Gary Player, and Jack Nicklaus, Donald Trump expressed his love for Bryson DeChambeau. However, even he couldn’t deny that Scottie Scheffler is great. After all that he has achieved since 2022, the world’s #1 has certainly earned himself a spot among the elite.

He’s one major away from becoming a Grand Slam champion and has been at the top of the world rankings for well over 150 weeks. Scheffler has also won 19 titles in the last four seasons, including 4 major wins. But this legacy didn’t stop Trump from also including Scheffler’s rival in his praise.

Interestingly, President Trump had also praised Scheffler’s biggest rival, Rory McIlroy, earlier in the video. He had expressed how McIlroy is the best driver in history, something even Woods had agreed with. Considering Trump’s love for golf, it hasn’t come as a surprise that he has followed all of these careers closely.

Having said that, Scheffler’s career could soon grow to be a whole lot bigger. After a dominant 2025 season with three majors, one obvious milestone looms large. The U.S. Open will now be the final piece to complete his career Grand Slam.

What will be Scottie Scheffler’s next big goal that even Tiger Woods hasn’t achieved?

Scottie Scheffler has just endured a rough outing at the 2025 Ryder Cup. The world No. 1 struggled to find form, winning only one of his five matches and collecting a single point for Team USA. It was a surprising dip, especially coming off his dominant win at the Procore Championship earlier in the year. Still, fans may not see him back on the PGA Tour soon, as Scheffler is known to take an extended break once the FedEx Cup season wraps up. The next time fans might see him would probably be in the 2025 Hero World Challenge.

The upcoming event could mark one of the defining tests of Scottie Scheffler’s career. Hosted by Tiger Woods, the Hero World Challenge will see Scheffler aim to become the first player to win the tournament three years in a row. Both Woods and Viktor Hovland have previously achieved back-to-back victories, but no golfer has extended that streak to a third consecutive title. Following his challenging Ryder Cup campaign in New York, the event in The Bahamas presents an opportunity for Scheffler to reaffirm his form on the global stage.
