The President is in the building! Or at least he will be on the Friday of the 2025 Ryder Cup. Mere hours ago, it was confirmed that President Donald Trump will be in Bethpage supporting Team U.S. during their battle against the Europeans. Patrick Cantlay and captain Keegan Bradley acknowledged how great it would be for the team’s morale to have the 47th POTUS on the course. However, Ryder Cup veteran Justin Rose views it a bit differently.

Confident that he and the rest of Team Europe will retain at Bethpage, the Englishman was asked if he would welcome Trump on stage for the trophy ceremony. Rose told the reporter, “100 percent, yeah, would love the opportunity to have that opportunity. Listen, I’m not sure he’s going to want to be on the stage congratulating the team that sort of wins in his backyard. But listen, of course, he’s the President, ultimate respect, and that would be a great opportunity.”
Being a huge fan of golf and a great player himself, the President would certainly enjoy being a part of the trophy ceremony. Although he would ideally prefer Bryson DeChambeau & Team U.S. lifting the trophy. But considering that he also shares a great friendship with Rory McIlroy & Co., he wouldn’t mind sharing the stage with them. Especially considering how influential and popular the Irishman is in the golf community.

Speaking about Donald Trump’s appearance at Bethpage as a whole, Rose said, “He’s going to bring certainly a lot of attention and patriotism to the event. By all accounts, he’s going to be in — I don’t know what I’ll say, but I don’t think he’s going to necessarily be on the tee box with us or roaming the course. So from that point of view, I think there will just be a lot of noise around it, but I’m not sure there will be the continued distraction of it. But again, I could be wrong, just based upon what I’ve heard, how they’re going to handle his movements around the property.”
Rumor has it that the Friday of the 2025 Ryder Cup will have extra security for the arrival of the President. While fans will be eager to watch their favorite golfers in action, they will also appreciate the 47th POTUS joining the ropes to encourage Scottie Scheffler & Co.. Considering how the world golf community is heavily favoring Team Europe to win away, the home side will need all the motivation they can get to ensure that doesn’t happen. However, whatever impact it may have, Rose believes Trump’s presence is beneficial for the sport.

“Listen, it’s great for golf that he’s engaged in the game, and obviously, he brings a lot of eyeballs with him. Yeah, fan-wise, I’m sure Friday afternoon will be certainly very intense and entertaining,” said the veteran Ryder Cup player. President Donald Trump will certainly attract a larger variety of audience to watch the Ryder Cup. Apart from the golf community, anyone around the world who is even remotely interested in politics might have an eye on the action at Bethpage. That not only promotes the prestigious event, but also helps golf grow as a sport.

Even if the President might not be actively supporting Team Europe, he still shares a great dynamic with them. Donald Trump has also expressed his admiration for Justin Rose & other Europeans in the past. Let’s see what he has said.

Donald Trump’s dynamic with Justin Rose & Co.
It’s no secret that Bryson DeChambeau is friends with President Donald Trump. Recently, Scottie Scheffler had also revealed that the 47th POTUS messages him every time he wins a title. Interestingly, during the 2025 Masters Tournament, Trump called them and Justin Rose his buddies: “Scottie Scheffler’s great. Bryson [DeChambeau] is great. Justin Rose, they’re all friends of mine,” he told The U.S. Sun. All three individuals were on the run for the Green Jacket at ANGC back in April.
Ludvig Aberg and Viktor Hovland also have an interesting Trump connection, but it doesn’t come through the President. It’s Kai Trump who has talked about the two Team Europe stars in the past. During one of her live vlogs, Kai ranked the three ‘hottest’ golfers in the world. It doesn’t come as a surprise that Aberg topped the list, as most of the golf community would agree. Hovland was placed second, and Adam Scott at third. We’re not sure if President Trump would approve of that or not. But chances are we might not see Kai accompanying her grandpa at Bethpage if Justin Rose & Co. do invite him on stage to celebrate a win on Sunday.
