‘Don’t Come Crying Back’: Golf World Reacts to Shocking Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed LIV Golf Reports

Ahead of the inaugural LIV Golf tournament, there have been reports swirling around that Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed will be joining the tournament. The reports have been confirmed and the fans on Twitter seem very unhappy as they react to the young golfers’ switch to the Saudi-backed Tour.

Bryson DeChambeau was previously linked with LIV Tour but denied the invitation and stayed committed to the PGA Tour. However, things have taken a turn as DeChambeau along with Patrick Reed is the latest name to shift to Greg Norman’s LIV Tour.

It is reported that DeChambeau’s contract is worth more than $100 million just for joining the Saudi-backed league. The details of Reed’s contract, however, have not yet been revealed.

With one Major each, both stars won’t be playing in the inaugural LIV event at The Country Club. But they will begin their new chapter of golf during the second event at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Oregon.

The LIV Tour is bankrolled by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, which has helped sign big names like Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Kevin Na, and many more.

With the news coming as a shock, fans couldn’t hold their anger on Twitter. Many seem disappointed with the stars while others began to rant about LIV Golf. Some even took a shot at some controversial past of both the stars.

Is PGA in danger?

Many players have resigned from the PGA, while others, though playing in LIV Tour, have not yet disclosed their resignation. The RBC Canadian Open is scheduled at the same time as the inaugural LIV event, on the 9th of June. This can be a great opportunity for both the Tours as well as the fans to understand which Tour will have better reach with the fans.

As more and more golfers are making the jump to the LIV Tour, PGA seems to be getting in trouble. After looking at the huge money offered by the tournament, it sure is difficult to say no to it.
