It has been a while since we have seen Dustin Johnson win an individual title. The last time was way back in February 2024, when he captured the LIV Golf Las Vegas title. Since then, the 41-year-old has been far from impressive on the fairway. Whether it’s in LIV Golf, the majors, the DP World Tour, or the Asian Tour, he hasn’t produced a favorable result anywhere in the world. But Johnson is eager to turn things around in the next few days as he wants to avoid hitting a new career low.

Playing in his second-ever International Series, Dustin Johnson said, “I think growing the game is very important. Obviously, LIV Golf has done a great job leading that effort. The International Series and the Asian Tour continue to expand golf’s reach by playing all over the world, bringing golf to parts of the world that I have never been to, and that a lot of golfers have never been to.”

Johnson’s remarks highlight not just his excitement for the event, but also his recognition of how the International Series is expanding golf’s global footprint, showing he values both competition and the broader growth of the sport.

“I think this is great for the game. The game of golf is growing a lot, and playing in places like this really helps. This will actually be my first look at the course – I am heading out this afternoon. It is a golf course. I have played enough courses by now. I have got a good caddie, so hopefully he will go out and scout the course, tell me where to hit it. Then, as long as my game is in good form, I’ll be able to hit it there.”

This won’t be Johnson’s first appearance in the International series. He had last played in the 2024 PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers at Riyadh Golf Club. Dustin also won the 2019 & 2021 editions of the Saudi event. However, last year, he failed to compete for it, as he finished at T89, 21 strokes away from the champion, Joaquin Niemann. Considering his recent form, it will be vital for him to get a good result in the International Series Philippines this week.

There is a lot more at stake than just winning an International Series event at the Sta. Elena Golf Club. The 41-year-old has also not won a single individual title in 2025. If he goes trophyless all year long, it will be the first time in over a decade. The last time he had a trophyless season was way back in 2014.

But will Dustin Johnson be able to overcome his own struggles to evade the unwanted record? Let’s look at what he has been up to on the fairway recently.

Can Dustin Johnson regain his winning touch?

To say that Dustin Johnson hasn’t been in the best form would be an understatement. A man was known for competing in every major, he has been a shadow of himself this season. In the four majors he played this year, the 41-year-old missed the cut in three of them. The T23 finish in The Open was probably the only promising point for him to end the season on a high.

And the same can be said for his LIV Golf campaign. Johnson played in all 13 LIV Golf events and the Team Championships. In the 13 events, he managed to get four top-10 finishes. The best one came in the very last event of the season, LIV Golf Indianapolis, where he finished third.

Dustin Johnson’s efforts helped him finish at 14th on the individual leaderboard in 2025. But it was nowhere near what he had achieved in the past. Having said that, it does seem he’s retaining some kind of form. Whether it would be enough to help him win the 2025 International Series Philippines, only time will tell.
