Gary Player Reveals the Title of His Upcoming Book About Golf’s Major Championships

Gary Player is a nine-time major championship. As a result, he is arguably one of the greatest golfing professionals of all time. Notably, he is also known as the Dark Knight. Recently, the veteran golfer posted about his new book on his Twitter account. Here’s what he had to say.

The South African retired golfing professional has a total of 24 PGA Tour victories. Now, the 82-year-old also designs golf courses. His company, Gary Player Design, has designed more than 135 golf courses all over the world. Apart from that, Gary also writes about the sport of golf.

He has written several books, with his most recent one titled, ‘Gary Player’s Black Book: 60 Tips on Golf, Business, and Life from the Black Knight’.

Gary recently took to Twitter, to announce the news that he is writing a new book now, along with the author, Randy O. Williams. He said, “To me, nothing in sport has a more iconic history than golf’s major championships, which is why I’m thrilled to announce my newest book project: Golf’s Majors: From Hagen and Hogan to A Bear and a Tiger, Inside the Most Unforgettable Performances of the Grand Slam.”

He also wrote, “Author Randy O. Williams and I will unpack the history of golf’s biggest events with insider stories from their earliest iterations to modern-day. I can’t wait to share these unforgettable stories with you all.”

Gary’s last Masters Event

The 82-year-old played for the last time in the Masters back in 2009. He missed the cut at the 2009 Masters at Agusta National Golf Club. Notably, Player carded an opening round of 78, six over par, and a second-round 83, 11 over par. As a result, he ended his event with an overall score of 17 under par in two rounds.
