Jason Day’s day was just made! No, he didn’t win the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship. With the tournament still going on, he won’t be able to push himself to compete for the title as well. But he was still rewarded with incredible support from a fan who was pushing his limits for every play by Day before the end of the day. And Jason is absolutely loving it. So much so that he even took out time from the round to interact with the fan.

As Day was playing the fourth round of the Bank of Utah Championship, he and his caddie noticed a fan being overly active behind the ropes after he hit a stroke. Apparently, the fan was seen doing pushups every time Jason Day played at the Black Desert Resort. And in the last two days, the Australian pro has played quite a few strokes already.
After interviewing the fan, he confirmed that he had done 1,440 pushups on the second day of the tournament. In the third round, he confirmed that he had done 1,360 pushups. As the PGA Tour official Instagram account confirmed, he had done “2,780 … and counting 🤯.” Looking at the fan exercising behind the ropes really made the PGA Tour pro laugh. And that’s what must have prompted him to take a break and have a word with him. Or at least that’s what the enthusiastic supporter stated.

However, one thing everyone would confirm is that he is certainly doing 20 pushups for every stroke Jason Day hits. And on the internet, everyone was impressed with his commitment to the challenge. Let’s see what the golf community had to say about Jason Day’s biggest fan.

Jason Day’s biggest fan gets a fan following of his own
Looking at the pumped individual sticking to the challenge and pumping 20 pushups for every Jason Day stroke really impressed everyone. However, there was one fan who still sympathized with him. They wrote, “Let’s hope J Day goes low today to save our boy 😂.” If Day manages to shoot a low score, that means he would need fewer strokes to complete the round. And that would certainly reduce the level of sore muscles the supporter might have tomorrow morning.
On the contrary, someone imagined the worst situation a supporter can get into. They commented, “Imagine he shot 85.” That would mean he will need to hit 1,700 pushups just today. That would certainly give him sore biceps for the next few days. Probably won’t be able to pick up that protein shake to repair the tear.
Another actually took up the challenge themselves as they kept the count of strokes Day hit on the day. They wrote, “3,240 so far!! Let’s keep it rolling @pgatour!!🔥🔥.” At least someone is keeping the count. They would have probably checked the number of strokes the PGA Tour pro had hit right when they decided to share the comment and calculated the total number of pushups. It’s all simple math, really!

Enjoying the remarkable challenge the fan has taken up, a netizen said, “This is pretty cool & unique random golf content but I’m all for it! 😂.” If the action on the golf course gets too boring, at least they will have something behind the ropes to keep them hooked every time the broadcasters switch to Jason Day.
Lastly, a few of the comments recognized who the individual was and acknowledged them. One of them wrote, “Strong Motive @rj_parker_ you the man!” Apparently, the fan’s name is R.J. Park, and he describes himself as the Official Push-up Guy for the PGA Tour. That explains why he took up the challenge in the first place.
