It’s been more than 25 years since the public-adoring film, ‘Happy Gilmore,’ released in theatres. The movie was celebrated across the country, with the Adam Sandler-hit running on to become the most eminent golf film in Hollywood.
Likewise, some of the crew members also got instated as cast members of the movie forever. Among them includes the main antagonist of the film, ‘Shooter McGavin,’ who is played by veteran actor Christopher McDonald. Indeed, the 68-year-old hasn’t let go of his character since, with today’s Father’s Day celebrations sparking another tweet around his nemesis.

Shooter McGavin wishes all but Happy Gilmore on Father’s Day
Globally, International Father’s Day is celebrated on the 18th of June, the third Sunday of the month. Wishes poured in from all quarters on the auspicious day, among which many celebrities wished their dads through social media.
Those included seasoned actor Christopher McDonald, who added a twist to his tweet. While wishing every father in the world, the real-life Shooter McGavin held back praise for Adam Sandler. Here’s the tweet:

Indeed, it was an amusing wish that turned back time to the good old days of Happy Gilmore. While McDonald surely didn’t make mean his wish, it brought back the feelings that carry with his much-acclaimed character.
What happened in Happy Gilmore?
Many of the younger generations are susceptible to losing the storyline of the iconic film. Indeed, it’s been more than two decades since its release. The story revolves around the life of a certain Happy Gilmore, played by Adam Sandler, who aspires to become a professional hockey player someday.

Alas, destiny has something else in store. Gilmore soon finds himself well-equipped in golf and is forced to enter a competition to win money, which he needs to save his grandmother from eviction.

Known for being a gentleman’s game, Gilmore’s powerful driving skills and foulmouthed attitude turn him into an unlikely hero. He faces many hurdles though, most of them imposed by none other than Shooter McGavin.
The chief adversary in the movie is a talented but incredibly arrogant golfer who goes to any lengths to win the competition. Gilmore ultimately defeated him for the exclusive Golden Jacket, but not before stealing and making a run out of it.

McGavin is eventually caught, while Gilmore wins the much-needed prize money for a happy ending. Fans have clamored for a sequel to the film, but no update has been issued by the directors so far.
