“They[LIV Golf] definitely said that we were gonna get them,” said Ortiz in the talk with the retired professional during an episode of The Subpar podcast. Adding on, he pointed out how the league and its players still “haven’t got them” while alluding to the points being awarded by the Official World Golf Ranking System.

Continuing with his opinion, the 32-year-old went ahead to mention how “people have to recognize that there is good players here[LIV Golf].” Moreover, elaborating on the need for a fair representation, he said, “If you’re going to have a world ranking, that includes all the best players, you have to have some people included in that world ranking.”

While doing so, they specified reasons including LIV Golf having a different format of 54 holes as opposed to the normal 72-hole followed by the other events in the sport.

Adding on, the OWGR also pointed out how the golfers are not competing at a place where they can be ranked equitably with the other circuits and their players. Moreover, it also put forward the fact that the Saudi-backed circuit only allowed a total of three players to qualify for the same through a year-end promotions event meanwhile other tours provided chances to more than 40 players through various initiatives.

Well, the Disruptive League does have a long road ahead of them if it has to get accepted into the folds of the world rankings. But even so, hope is definitely there with the upcoming merger between the three bodies reaching a finishing point soon.
