The game of golf changed forever in 2021. With the creation of LIV Golf, two factions also emerged: those who supported the newly incepted league and those who didn’t. The divide over the years kept growing. Many PGA Tour pros chose the PIF-funded league as their new home. Bryson DeChambeau was one of them. Well, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. In their case, it was the suspension from the Jay-Monhan-led circuit. However, recently, many pros from both leagues have expressed their wish for the unification of golf.

Keeping that in mind, LIV golfers and PGA Tour pros will share the stage at the first major of the season. Ahead of the Masters at the Augusta National Golf Club during the press conference, the nine-time PGA Tour winner answered a few questions regarding his future at the PGA Tour Pro as a LIV Golfer.

Bryson DeChambeau wishes to get back on the PGA Tour events

“These players have made their choice for their own financial-based reasons,” The Commissioner of the PGA Tour chose these words when he addressed the suspension of 17 members from the Tour for competing in the inaugural LIV Golf International series back in 2022. The scientist was one of them.

One interviewer chose to inquire about the status of the suspension of the LIV Golfer from the American circuit and questioned, “The court cases back in 2022 mentioned some of the players were suspended for March 31, 2024. Are you still suspended by the PGA TOUR?” to which DeChambeau replied, “I don’t know. They haven’t told me. Communications have been not there.”

When he was further asked about reinstatement, he expressed his desire to play the game of golf all around the world, which definitely included the PGA Tour-hosted events. “Look, I would love to continue to showcase my skill set around the world in different places, whether it be Shriners or the Arnold Palmer, Mr. Nicklaus’ event, TPC Las Vegas. I’d love to play those events. They’ve been great to me. Shoot, even Riviera.”

He concluded his statement by revealing that although he is not sure if he is ready to put up for being a part of the full schedule of the PGA Tour, he would surely love to be a part of a few of them. He is still looking forward to getting together with his old friends and leaving a positive impact on the community.

‘Something I’ve Always Wanted’: Bryson DeChambeau Confesses His Sole Reason to Ever Return to PGA Tour

Well, on one hand, where Bryson DeChambeau wishes to get the taste of both worlds, for Jon Rahm, the complaint regarding LIV Golf has practically been the only one ever since. The format! It appears that the 29-year-old presumably misses some aspects of his former league.

The 54-hole format is not good enough for Jon Rahm

One of the main reasons behind LIV Golf not being awarded the OWGR points was that the PIF-funded league did not follow the traditional 72-hole format and instead has a 54-hole format. The Legion XII skipper believes that it will not only help LIV Golf but also have a positive impact on the current state of the sport, “If there ever was a way where LIV could go to 72 holes, I think it would help all of this argument a lot,”

The Spaniard further spoke about how it would help in mending the bridges and iterated “The closer I think we can get LIV Golf to some other things the better. I think it would be for some kind of unification to feed into a world tour or something like that.  The defending Masters champion said, “I don’t know if I’m alone in this, but I definitely wouldn’t mind going back to 72 holes.”
