Hours After Stealing PGA Championship Spotlight From ‘Intimidating’ Brooks Koepka, Michael Block Reveals His First Impression About the LIV Defector: ‘Guy’s a Beast’

While the 105th PGA championship is finally over, the excitement among fans still hasn’t settled. Golf enthusiasts can’t stop talking about what an incredible major event they got to witness this year, and rightfully so! Among these people is a 2023 PGA star himself who stole the show after shooting an ace, Michael Block. The golf pro can’t get over his ecstatic encounter with the PGA Championship winner, Brooks Koepka, on the course at Oak Hills on Sunday. 

46-year-old Michael Block managed to steal the hearts of many with his stellar performance during the last round of the PGA Championship. But his very own heart was stolen by the winner of the major, as they both shared a wonderful moment on the green.

Block feels intimidated by Brooks Koepka

The entire golf world is aware of the rare shot Block was able to pull off during the closing round of the PGA Championship, which ultimately means the drinks are on him! Following the end of the tournament, the golf pro found himself walking toward the now three-time PGA Championship winner, Brooks Koepka. The LIV golfer slyly whispered to him, “I heard you’re buying drinks,” followed by a big hug.

Block revealed in a Podcast with Fore Play, how he felt about coming face-to-face with the 5-time major winner. He recalled, “I was like, that was cool,” referring to the hug both the golfers shared. Block even hung out with Koepka and his friends after the tournament about which he said, “him and his friends were just awesome.” Overall the 46-year-old was delighted to meet the golf legend…who wouldn’t be?

Additionally, Michael shared what he thought of Koepka before their meeting: “he’s very intimidating human.” He revealed how they, as a matter of fact, had played a lot of tournaments together prior to the PGA Championship. However, he never got a chance to speak to Koepka as he would walk away right after the Tournaments ended. Block said, “he walks out down the range, and you’re just almost like, oh my gosh, that guy’s a beast.”

After serving himself an invitation to the 2024 PGA Championship, where is the club professional headed next? Well, after his newfound fame, Block received a couple of invitations to feature at some golf events.

The golf coach from California was invited to play at the Charles Schwab Challenge this week. He also received a bidding from the RBC Canadian Open where he’ll be making a presence between June 8-11.

All this fame, but Block remains so down to earth, a quality only a handful possess. He entered the PGA as a no-one but left being a household name. What do you expect from the new PGA star of his own?
