Brooke Henderson was only 17 when she first joined the LPGA Tour. Yet, she didn’t fail to impress during her rookie season, winning the 2015 Cambia Portland Classic. 10 years later, she has added 12 more titles to her name, including 2 major championships. Henderson has been incredibly consistent throughout her career, proving to be a threat to other LPGA Tour players every time she plays. But that was not the case in 2024.

The Canadian professional golfer had a difficult time on the Tour last year. Her best performance came at the Chevron Championship, where she finished at T3. She has evidently struggled throughout the season while dealing with a medical condition. But it seems that she won’t have to tackle the challenges anymore. At least that is what she said during a recent interview.

Is Brooke Henderson back to her best?

For those who aren’t aware, Brooke Henderson had major optical issues back in 2023. Prolonged exposure to sun and wind led to a bump in her eyes. She wore her glasses all year long, which partly impaired her vision on the course. Unfortunately, this made her start wearing spectacles.

Speaking to SportsNet, Henderson said, “The glasses always seemed to be in the way a little bit”. Henderson had to get a Pterygium surgery to remove the bump back in late 2024. That made her miss out on important events like Annika driven by Gainbridge at the Pelican. However, she has since recovered from her surgery and is getting back to the best version of herself. And now, the 27-year-old has shared a great update with everyone.

Brooke Henderson has now confirmed that she will be wearing contact lenses while on the course. Excited about the positive change in her life, the 13x LPGA Tour winner shared her hopes for the season. She said, “Now with them (glasses) off I feel much more free. I feel like maybe not right away, but I think over time it’ll definitely be better than wearing glasses.”

With her glasses out of the way, Brooke Henderson will now be aiming at getting back to winning ways. Her first target would be the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions 2025. The tournament begins in a few hours and fans will be eager to watch the Canadian national play again. So what can they expect from her during the tournament? Let’s look at her past record here.

Has Henderson ever won the HGV Tournament of Champions?

This will be the 6th consecutive time Brooke Henderson will play in the Tournament of Champions. During her last 5 appearances, the Canandia Pro consistently finished inside the top 10. Even when Henderson was struggling in 2024, she still managed to land on the 3rd spot. But that was not even close to what she had achieved a year prior to that.

Brooke Henderson was still going through her incredible run of winning often a couple of years ago. She kicked off 2023 with an incredible triumph at the HGV Tournament of Champions. Saying that she won the tournament would be an understatement. Henderson dominated the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, grabbing a 4-stroke lead at the top of the table to win the title. She also had 2 other runner-up finishes throughout the year to add to her records for 2023. If Henderson replicates the same kind of performance in 2025, then there is no doubt that she will win the second Tournament of Champions title of her career.
