In October 2023, Max Greyserman finished 9th on the Korn Ferry Tour to book his place on the PGA Tour. Since then, he has been one of the most exciting talents on the Tour as he has come close to grabbing his first win more than once. The biggest question is, is Max Greyserman American? Considering his unique name, one might think he’s not from the United States. Well, at first glance, even Bryson DeChambeau‘s name reads like he is from France, even though he is from Texas. And the same applies to Greyserman as well, as he is indeed an American citizen. He was born in Short Hills, New Jersey, and resides in Palm Beach Gardens in Florida. Max completed his education and played collegiate golf for Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

However, his family is not originally from the United States. According to the PGA Tour website, Greyserman’s parents, Alex and Elaine, were refugees from the Soviet Union as teenagers. They met each other when they were studying at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Alex was studying mathematics at the university there, while Elaine was a tennis player. Now, Max’s father works as a math professor at Columbia University & his mother has switched sports and started playing adaptive golf. Apparently, both of them picked up a few golf lessons after a trip to Florida and loved it so much that they introduced their son to the sport.
