‘I’ve Got More Responsibility’: Bryson DeChambeau Reveals He’s Using the Lucrative LIV Money for Charity

Bryson DeChambeau became one of the biggest defectors of the PGA Tour after he jumped the ship to join the LIV Golf. The golfer has since been suspended from the PGA Tour. However, in a recent interview, DeChambeau reveals how he has been spending his 9-figure salary that he got from LIV Golf lately.

DeChambeau has been part of the lucrative Tour since the second event in Portland. The 28-year-old reportedly signed a deal worth $125 million with LIV Golf. However, following his decision to join the newly found Tour, several of his long-term endorsement partners such as Bridgestone and Rocket Mortgage decided to end their deal with the golfer.

The PGA Tour has suspended DeChambeau from all of its events. But the Scientist seems to be least bothered as he recently shared that he has no regrets about joining the LIV Golf.

DeChambeau had a sit-down interview with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson. During the interview, Tucker touched on various topics including a personal question about how DeChambeau has been spending the LIV Golf money.

The reporter asked the golfer if his move to the lucrative Tour has paid off. DeChambeau, with a smile on his face, replied by saying, “I think it has. For me I’m very blessed, very lucky. My family’s, um, very very happy. My friends around me are very happy.”

The 2020 US Open Champion then speaks on how he has been utilizing the money earned from the Saudi-backed Golf Tour for the betterment of his community in Dallas. DeChambeau said, “I’m going to build a multi-sport complex center there. Attach an education center there. Attach my charity to it.”

DeChambeau adds on how his Bryson DeChambeau Foundation helps in supporting junior golf. He also wishes to build a means of education of his ideas and model which can benefit the education system in general.

DeChambeau also speaks on how the deal with LIV Golf has resulted in him having greater responsibility towards his community. He said, “The resources that I now have Doesn’t mean I’m able to just sit on my butt and do do nothing. I’ve got more responsibility now take care of my community, my country, and my state as much as I can.

In the end, DeChambeau shares his joy of joining LIV Golf. He revealed he has more time to spend with his family since joining the new Tour. Moreover, since most PGA Tour stars are shifting to the lucrative Tour, the Scientist believes it is the Tour with the most competitiveness at the moment.
