Joel Dahmen’s popularity skyrocketed after he went shirtless at the 2022 Phoenix Open. However, he is still making headlines a day later for a different reason. As it turned out, the golfer has sent an unusual request to one of the top golfers in the world, Rory McIlroy.

Dahmen is a 34-year-old American professional golfer. The golfer turned pro in 2010 and has since won three championship titles. He suddenly became the fan favorite at the Phoenix Open after he and Harry Higgs went shirtless at the 16th hole.

As promised on Twitter, Higgs flashed his chest without removing his T-shirt. Joel had challenged Higgs to do the same if his post was retweeted enough; the post got 7000+ retweets in no time. When the audience began to shower the golfers with beer, Dahmen felt encouraged and went shirtless.

After this adventurous moment, Joel is ready for another one. This time, however, he promised not to take his shirt off.

So, it came as a surprise for the golf fans when Dahmen requested Rory to accompany him at the Zurich Classic.

Zurich Classic is one of the professional events on the PGA Tour. The Classic added a new team event with two golfers in 2017. It is at this event, Joel asked Rory to be his partner.

As expected, the golf fans took the post as another fun event from Joel. They joked about the promise Dahmen made to Rory of not going shirtless. 

Since Joel posted this on Valentine’s day, many fans made jokes about this as asking a person on a date.
