John Daly is a unique character. He has won many championship titles, including majors. Nevertheless, he is more famous for his off-course shenanigans than his on-course achievements. Stories involving his drinking habits are not hard to find. However, a new story shared by one of his friends lets us know more deeply about the golfer than ever.
Pat Perez is an American professional golfer who turned pro in 1997. The three-time PGA Tour winner is a good friend of Daly. He recently shared his experience when Daly suffered a stroke at his house.

John Daly suffered a stroke while partying!
“He had a stroke at my house,” Perez told the Fore The People Podcast. Pat explained that John was at his home attending a party when all of a sudden he went missing. As a host and his friend, Pat went to look for the missing golfer in his house.

“I finally see him around the f–king corner, and I am like ‘John, where the hell are you at?'” Pat further added that Daly had a cigarette in his mouth when he told him he was having a stroke. He said that Daly said to him, “Oh! bubba, I am having a f*cking stroke.”
Since Daly’s health was not good, Perez called the paramedics to help his friend. However, Pat added that Daly’s caddie, Peter, drove the paramedic’s vehicle to the hospital. Once they get to the hospital, rather than caring for the golfer, Peter wants to know whether the hospital has a smoking room or not.
The aftermath of the stroke incident
Perez further added that he left the major-winning golfer and his caddie at the hospital so that the professionals could take care of him. However, he received a call from Daly asking him to take him back home in the early morning the next day.

Pat said, “He was outside smoking when I get to the hospital. He gets inside the car and goes, ‘bubba, I need a f*cking drink.'” Although Pat didn’t want John to drink more, he said that Daly ended up drinking more alcohol at his home.
