“Fore” was what the spectators at TPC Craig Ranch were expecting to hear if the ball was heading their way. Standing near the rough of the 12th fairway, fans were keenly looking at where Jordan Spieth would land his ball after teeing off. The 31-year-old had racked up 6 strokes in his first 11, and everyone was excitedly following his round. However, for one fan, it turned into a painful affair that he didn’t mind receiving.

Spieth has been in form lately, showing glimpses of his former self that dominated the Tour from 2015-17. While Scottie Scheffler was pulling away with the lead and the eventual win, locals were still happy to see another one of their hometown heroes rise up the rankings. Teeing off the 12th hole, the Golden Child was also a little too focused on the trajectory of the ball and forgot to shout “Fore.” It was only when the ball hit a spectator that Spieth realized that he had missed the call.

The person who got hit was Ty Bryant. And he shared a glimpse of his injury on X. What he also included is a picture of a signed golf glove and a video of Jordan Spieth gifting it to him. Despite getting bruised by the PGA Tour pro, Bryant was excited to get the opportunity to interact with the fan favorite. Receiving a signed glove from Spieth was just icing on the cake for him.

As the fan’s tweet mentioned, the 13x PGA Tour champion ended up scoring a birdie on the 12th. He didn’t shy away from taking some credit for it as the caption to his tweet read, “Helped @JordanSpieth get a birdie on 12 today. Let me know if you need help next year at Augusta!” After hitting Bryant, the ball bounced into a favorable position that allowed Spieth to get an incredible approach shot for a birdie. As the spectator confirmed, he will be at Augusta National next year if the 3-time major winner wants to win another Green Jacket. All the Dallas citizen has to do is drop his fan a message on X.

From Spieth’s perspective, he has evaded backlash after failing to call “Fore” off the tee. While that is great, what is not exactly working in his favor is a win that is still nowhere in sight. So far into the 2025 season, he has managed 3 Top 10 finishes and 5 Top 25 finishes. 2024? Yeah, 3 Top 10 finishes and 4 Top 25 finishes. The year prior? 1 runner-up finish with 7 Top 10 finishes and 10 Top 25 finishes. The last win for the golfer came in April 2022 at the RBC Heritage, where he defeated Patrick Cantlay in a playoff. And from there began his winless streak.

Scottie Scheffler may have run away with an outstanding win, but Jordan Spieth also put in a remarkable effort in the final round. He teed off on Sunday in 23rd place. But his journey from the first to the end of the penultimate round wasn’t easy. While Scheffler boosted himself at the top of the table with an outstanding 10-under 61 on Thursday, Spieth was struggling with a -2 at the end of the first 18 holes. The 31-year-old added two more rounds of 4-under par 67 on Friday and Saturday to end tied at 23rd.

Spieth’s 18th-hole eagle on Saturday was an exciting putt for him, as that guaranteed that he would tee off in the final round along with his friend, Si Woo Kim. The two, who were in the same group on Saturday as well, chest bumped each other after the former’s finish. Not only because they got to group up again, but also ended up sharing the group for all four days of the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson. On the last day, Spieth shot 9-under par 62 to rise up 19 places to solo fourth. This was his third top-10 finish of the season.

With every tournament, Jordan Spieth seems to be getting closer to breaking his losing streak. Maybe we will see him win a title in the near future, even when Ty Bryant is not in attendance. Do you agree?
