Jordan Spieth Shows Love and Excitement for the Texas Longhorns Ahead of Red River Showdown

It’s no secret that Jordan Spieth is a big football fan. Recently, he expressed his excitement ahead of the red river showdown which is underway tomorrow.
The red river showdown, also known as the Texas–Oklahoma football rivalry, is an annual college football game played between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners. The 2021 edition will be in play tomorrow at 8ET at the Cotton Bowl inside Fair Park in Dallas.

Jordan Spieth showed support for his team ahead of the annual red river showdown. He took to Instagram to post a picture of himself cheering his home team on. He wrote, “One of my favorite days – AT&T Red River Showdown tomorrow, kickoff is at 11a CT on ABC and LETS GO HORNS!!!”

The Texas Longhorns are an intercollegiate football team representing the University of Texas at Austin. They compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision as a member of the Big 12 Conference.

Moreover, Spieth has a deep connection with the Longhorns. Not only is he an avid football fan, but he is also an alumnus of the University of Texas. He also played golf for the college and led his team to a victory at the NCAA Championship in his freshman year. Spieth was the Player of the Year for that edition.
Even in the past, Spieth has shown his excitement for the game. The 12 time PGA Tour winner and former Longhorn golfer was even invited for the coin toss for the 2017 edition of the match.

However, we still can’t get over Spieth’s insane shot at the Ryder Cup. Recovering a shot that had fallen off the green during the foursomes, he made an almost impossible save. In the process, he almost fell in Lake Michigan!
