Later, when asked about who inspired her to perform so brilliantly this week, Kim had only one legend in mind, and that was Tiger Woods.

The 32-year-old joined the press conference after her triumph in South Korea when one of the reporters asked her about the red pants she wore on Sunday. Kim told the press, “So when I turned pro, I wanted people to remember me, and I thought of Tiger Woods always in red shirts. So I was looking for, why not go for the red trousers? By wearing that, I got my first win. So I stuck with that.” This confirmed that she was inspired by the big cat when she claimed the 2025 BMW Ladies Championship title and the $345,000 paycheck.

Inspired by the big cat’s outfit, a 22-year-old Sei Young Kim played the last round of the 2015 LOTTE Championship in red pants and a blue sweater. That ended up being her first title win.
