$819! That’s the cheapest ticket for the Friday of the 2025 Ryder Cup. The online ticket window doesn’t even mention if it includes parking at Bethpage. As prestigious as the transatlantic tournament is, the prices are absurdly outrageous. And that’s only the beginning of it. Fans were left even more surprised to learn about the cost of the Ryder Cup merchandise for Team U.S.. Looking at the strong reactions of the community, Luke Donald has some strong advice for his rivals.

When he was questioned about whether the high cost of tickets and fan kits may backfire against the Americans, Donald told The Scotsman’s Martin Dempster, “That could happen. We all know how high the ticket prices are, and it’s going to be an expensive trip out for a family of four. If the US players are getting paid a stipend, or whatever it is, and they aren’t performing, the New Yorkers could make them know about it.”

The outrageous prices of Ryder Cup polos by Ralph Lauren have been the topic of discussion for a while now. The PGA of America and the designer brand had already faced a lot of heat for the ridiculous design and patterns when they were released. Now, according to the shop, the cheapest replica uniform for the 2025 edition of the event is priced at $115.

Bringing Keegan Bradley as the team captain was already considered quite a controversial decision by the PGA of America. He certainly deserved a place in the squad. But he would have been a great addition as a player in 2023 and 2025. Hence, many were surprised when Bradley didn’t pick himself as a Captain’s Pick for Bethpage a few weeks ago.

Alternatively, the controversial inclusion of Patrick Cantlay and Collin Morikawa might also be a risky decision for the squad. Both players are enduring a winless streak and haven’t been in their best form recently. Team U.S. already has Xander Schauffele, who is automatically qualified. Morikawa and Cantlay might have weakened the team even further. Should the team fail to win, future captains might be cautious about picking both players in the squad.
