Who are Nicolai Hojgaard’s parents?

Ole Højgaard Bryrup and his wife Tina Højgaard are the proud parents of identical twin golf sensations Rasmus and Nicolai. Born on February 12, 1955, in Nørresundby, Denmark, Ole had his own brush with professional sports before his sons ever picked up a golf club.

Ole played as a defender for Kjøbenhavns Boldklub (KB Copenhagen) from 1974 to 1980, earning five caps for the Denmark national team in 1979. After his football career, Ole transitioned into aviation, flying commercially for many years, including assignments in Japan. He currently works as a Captain at Blackbird Air in Billund, flying Gulfstream VII and Falcon 2000 aircraft.

Rasmus also discussed how Ole and Tina used to struggle with celebrating one son’s achievements while supporting the other. He said, “In the early years, yes, as they didn’t know how to celebrate with one and support the other, but that’s become a lot easier over time. They understood our careers were not always going to be side-by-side.”

Ole played golf with his sons at Gyttegaard, and the boys gave their father eight shots, wanting to give him a fighting chance at winning. This family bonding through golf has remained a cherished memory for both twins.
